Easter week in Fauske

We started our Easter vacation on the Saturday before Palm Sunday, and headed up to Fauske where Arnt's parents live, a 10 hr drive north. The drive went amazingly well, with a fully packed Volvo wagon, and a new baby and a dog. We spend the week with Arnt's parents and his sister, who'd taken the train up a few days before. We had a wonderful week, most of the week's weather being extreme winds and rain, and snow... But the main reason for the visit was to spend time with Arnt's mom, who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer. She had her first round of chemotherapy a few days before we got there, and was in surprisingly great shape the entire week we were there. She's in shape and a very positive person, and we're hopeful that she'll pull through this like a champ. There's no reason not to hope they can get it all, and she'll be just fine.

Did lots of visiting while we were there, spent the night at Arnt's cousin, Rune's cabin out by the coast, visited with Arnt's 3rd cousin Sveinung, and went for walks, and made lots of good dinners.

The ride home went just as well as the first, with a few extra stops along the way to nurse Eirik. He's such a hungry boy! We stopped in Korgen to visit a good friend, Tonje Bergh, who was visiting her mother for Easter. She was an AFS student at William Chrisman High School in 1997.
