Almost 6 weeks old now...

Well, it's been over a week since I posted last, and of course, LOTS has happened since then... Eirik has started making eye contact with us, and his cries are becoming more distinct and different. He's started cooing, and making the sweetest baby noises. This past week, we all came down with a cold, including Eirik, who was coughing a bit. But everyone is back in shape now, thank goodness. :)

Next week we have our first checkup with the doctor and the health center, to see how he's growing and developing, and to make sure he's gaining the weight he's supposed to. We've been on daily walks and are just enjoying our time together at home. One day, we even ate lunch at McDonalds, and here in the picture you'll see how 'brave' I've become. :) I'm breastfeeding Eirik there in that picture. I'm so glad Norway, and the nordic countries in general, are so breastfeeding friendly.

Soon we're planning his christening, and in the near future we'll have to make a trip to Oslo to get him registered with an American social security number and passport. Next week, for Easter, we'll be driving 10 hours north to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Fauske. It should be interesting to see how that goes, with an over excited dog and a hungry baby in the car for that many hours... can't wait to see how long it REALLY takes! :) We're prepared to make long stops and even spend the night half way.
